Flea Mountain

EARLY 1990'S - Located above the Feather River Canyon near Pulga. This site is a terminal and a repeater (first site out from Chico) for the East Leg of the SS12000 microwave radio. To the west is the terminal at Chico and to the east is Red Hill. The terminal feeds a 10 watt Comwave ITFS transmitter (channel C2), which serves Chico and Paradise. This site is monitored with a Campbell Scientific CR-10 datalogger and accessed remotely by cellular telephone.

Winter weather is moderately snowy, with 3 feet of snow not uncommon. Winter access is by snowcat or four wheel drive truck during warm periods.
